“The number 3 is big to me because I was raised by three strong ladies,” – Patriots receiver DeMario Douglas credits his mom, grandmother and great grandmother for his success

There are many reasons an NFL player will change numbers ranging all the way from the superstitious to a lucky charm, but Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas has a more wholesome reason.

Douglas may be playing in a hurly-burly world of all-out hits, thrills and spills but believes he would never have made it pro without the support of three women.

“The number 3 is big to me because I was raised by three strong ladies, my mom, my grandma, and my great grandma.”

Douglas was signed as the 210th overall pick in the 2023 draft, playing out of the Liberty Flames program.

He played in 14 games for the Pats last season receiving 49 passes for 561 yards.
