Watch: Rangers Clinch Playoff Victory Amid ESPN Broadcast Mishap: Fans React to Coverage Interruption

The New York Rangers recently defeated the Carolina Hurricanes with a final score of 4-3 marking an incredible overtime playoff victory. Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin saved 28 goals, whereas Carolina goalie, Pyotr Kochetkov saved 23 shots.

With the win, the Rangers ended the Hurricanes three-game winning streak and won the series. While the Rangers were on power play late in the third period of the intense game, ESPN’s coverage unexpectedly switched to the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars game.

The giant network was on Stars-Avalanche broadcast for about 20 seconds before it came back and during the switch, no goals were scored in the Rangers-Hurricanes game and it continued to be aired on the network. However, the Avalanche-Stars game was supposed to start after the Rangers-Hurricanes ended.

The Stars-Avalanche game was supposed to start on ESPN but was moved to ESPNU. However, twenty seconds were enough to get the attention of the community as they bombarded the network’s NHL presentation and ESPN as well.
