WNBA star, Kelsey Plum recently spoke out about her off-season struggles, which included her very public divorce from NFL tight end Darren Waller.
Plum and Waller got married in March 2023 but filed for divorce after just one year, in April 2024. Despite the hardship, Plum shared a positive outlook. In a recent interview with Fox 5 News, she mentioned her faith growing stronger and a sense of self-discovery. She used the phrase “refined by fire” which suggests that while the experience was difficult, it has made her stronger and more resilient.
"The offseason has been tough for me…I know who I am. You kind of get refined by fire."
"I'm excited about this season…trying to run it back again." 🏆🏆🏆

Plum did not delve into specifics about the reasons for the divorce. She mentioned she would share her story someday but not currently.
Kelsey and Darren’s divorce news came out last month with both parties filing a joint petition for divorce in Clark County, Nevada. Taking to X, she expressed her devastation. The WNBA star stated she poured significant effort into the relationship but ultimately realized it was time to move on.
