Former NBA star Charles Barkley, known for his candid commentary, took aim at New York City and its basketball team, the Knicks, following their Game 2 victory over the Pacers.
During TNT"s postgame show, Barkley expressed his lack of interest in the outcome of the Knicks-Pacers series, stating, “People think we care who wins. If the Knicks win, that’ll be good. I don’t care who wins. But I’ll tell you what: I would love to see their [expletive] get stomped by the Celtics, that’d be great."
Despite the Knicks being two wins away from potentially facing the Celtics, who dominated the Cavaliers in their series opener, Barkley"s commentary seemed to reflect deeper tensions with New York and its fans.
“New Yorkers, y’all deserve it," Barkley remarked. “Y’all think y’all the greatest thing since sliced bread. Y’all ain’t that good in New York, come on man, you’re overrated."

This isn"t the first time Barkley has expressed his discontent with the Knicks and their supporters. During the team"s first-round series against Barkley"s former team, the 76ers, he criticized New York fans for their behavior during Game 3 in Philadelphia.
