“Would love to see them get their a** stomped by the Celtics” Charles Barkley Hopes To See Knicks Humbled If They Progress In NBA Playoffs

New York Knicks fans have been patient with their franchise over a turbulent era littered with false dawns. It has been 25 years since the Knicks last reached the NBA finals and aside from a couple of Eastern Conference finals appearances over the last two decades, there has been little to cheer about.

On Wednesday, the Knicks took a commanding 2-0 series lead versus the Indiana Pacers and are on the verge of the Eastern Conference finals. The Big Apple is buzzing and the fanbase finally has a team they can get behind. New Yorkers are known to be outspoken and confident and that can rub some people the wrong way.

During a recent appearance on TNT, former NBA MVP Charles Barkley made his feelings clear on the loud and sometimes brash Knicks fanbase.

“I would love to see them get their a** stomped by the Celtics, that’d be great,” said Barkley. “Cause the New Yorkers they deserve it. You’ll think you’ll the greatest thing since slice bread.”

Led by point guard Jalen Brunson, the Knicks have been one of the most dominant teams during the playoffs. If they are able to progress to the next round, the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers versus Bostons Celtics series awaits them. The Celtics finished the year with a league-best 64-18 record and Barkley is confident they can defeat the Cavs.

The Knicks travel to Indianapolis to face off against the Pacer in Game 3 on Friday night.
