Terrion Arnold who was drafted 24th overall by the Lions, recently made waves in the sports industry with a shocking claim.
Arnold has stated that he was on the verge of becoming a Raider, with a coin toss almost tipping in his favor. He revealed that a Raiders’ coach had shared how the choice between him and tight end Brock Bowers was as fickle as the flip of a coin.
However, the reality, as per the Raiders management, was that Bowers was actually a “consensus guy.” Following the draft, Raiders’ General Manager, Tom Telesco expressed that they had a collective assent in favor of Bowers.
The remark was a stark contrast to Arnold’s “coin toss” claim which portrayed uncertainty in their draft decision.
In the midst of this confusion, Raiders asst. G.M Champ Kelly, had an opportunity to shed light on the situation when he addressed reporters on a recent Wednesday.
Kelly’s response leaving no room for ambiguity, he stated clearly he couldn’t affirm Arnold’s coin toss theory.
“Yeah, I can’t confirm that at all,” Kelly said, via Vic Tafur of TheAthletic.com. “Terrion is a good player. I’m excited to watch his career and watch him play. But we drafted Brock, and we’re excited to get him here. And I don’t think anyone else in our whole draft room felt any other way.”

Regardless of any purported coin toss, the Raider’s draft strategy was clear to enhance their passing offense.
The addition of Bowers was hardly a spontaneous decision but a well-thought step towards strengthening their attack.
It would now include the forceful trio of Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and the newly drafted Brock Bowers.
“(His) position is tight end, but we saw him as a playmaker,” Kelly said on Wednesday. “He is going to be a fun piece to have. We’ll see what defenses deploy against him when he is on the field.”
