On May 9, Caitlin Clark’s WNBA home debut with the Indiana Fever was a night to remember, not just for her, but for the entire franchise. The game took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis against Atlanta Dream (Preseason game).

The arena was buzzing with excitement. A record-breaking crowd, estimated at 14,000, filled the stands, many sporting Clark jerseys. The crowd roared with approval during her introduction and first basket.

While it wasn’t her best shooting night (12 points, 4-12 FG), she showed her all-around game. She grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 6 assists, highlighting her versatility. Defensively, she even had a key block. Though her shooting wasn’t on fire, she did hit a clutch three-pointer to extend the Fever’s lead.

The Indiana Fever won the game 83-80, giving Clark her first taste of victory in the WNBA.

Last month, Caitlin Clark became the number one overall pick in the WNBA Draft. The Brooklyn Academy of Music hosted the 2024 WNBA Draft for the first time.

Clark entered the draft as one of the most decorated collegiate players ever. She became a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year, three-time unanimous first-team All-American, and led the Iowa Hawkeyes to two consecutive NCAA championship games.
