In Game 1 of their second-round series, the Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers by 25 points by Jaylen Brown (32 points), Derrick White (25), and Payton Pritchard, who scored 16 points off the bench.

On Thursday, Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series, the Cavaliers outscored the Celtics by 12 points in both the third and fourth quarters to secure a dominant 118-94 win.

Boston dominating the series opener halted in Game 2 and shot an uncharacteristic 41.3 percent from the floor compared to the Cavs’ 54.7 percent.

On Thursday night, at TD Garden with five minutes remaining, a herd of Celtics fans headed for the exits. Celtics fans abandoned their team during the playoff blowout loss.

As the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics are heavily favored to win the series and so were to win Game 2.

Celtics fans began streaming out of TD Garden, after conceding defeat, as the clock ticked to zero. Furthermore, the remaining Celtics fans at TD Garden were visibly frustrated with the team’s performance during the blowout home loss.

Boston’s had an unusually poor shooting night from beyond the arc, hitting just 8 out of 35 attempts at a dismal 22.9 percent, which only added to their disappointment.

All five Cavs starters scored in double digits, led by Donovan Mitchell’s 29 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and a plus-38 mark. He enjoyed 10-19 shooting from the field, including 5-7 from beyond the arc.

Jayson Tatum led Boston with 25 points, with seven rebounds and six assists, while Jaylen Brown scored 19 points but missed all six of his three-pointers. Game 3 will take place in Cleveland on Saturday.
