It seems like the aftermath of Tom Brady’s Netflix roast special, “The Greatest Roast of All Time,” took an unexpected turn when it the jokes about his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen landed with a thud.
The Netflix roast special, “The Greatest Roast of All Time,” meant to be a light-hearted skewering of Brady’s life and career featured a barrage of jokes about his recent divorce from Bündchen. Comedians took aim at everything from the breakdown of the marriage to her new relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.
According to reports, Brady supposedly agreed to a “no disparaging remarks” rule with Bündchen regarding their split. This meant neither of them would publicly speak negatively about the other. The roast, however, seemed to violate this agreement in her eyes.
There were reports that Gisele Bündchen was “hurt” and “upset” by the jokes. Apparently, she felt the whole thing was disrespectful, especially the references to her new relationship, which she considered off-limits.
Due to the unexpected blowback, Brady reportedly reached out to Bündchen to apologize. Insiders claim he acknowledged the jokes crossed a line and expressed regret for the situation.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce was finalized in October 2022 after much speculation in the media. The couple had been married for 13 years. While the exact reasons haven’t been explicitly shared, there were reports of friction caused by Brady’s unretirement from football.
