Michael Jordan, 61, attended the opening of a third Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic in his hometown Wilmington, North Carolina. In an exclusive photo, he can be seen inside the clinic’s lobby during the opening.
The grand opening commenced Jordan made a surprise visit to his hometown of Wilmington, reportedly he made a $10 million donation. The third such clinic Jordan and his mother, Deloris, have opened in North Carolina.

Following the event, the clinic said in a statement it would focus on providing primary healthcare services to “individuals who are uninsured or underinsured.”
Jordan also said in a press release,
“Everyone is worthy of access to quality health care, no matter where you live or if you have insurance. When the families are not able to support them, we are there to support them.”
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant showed his support for Jordan after the NBA legend allegedly fostered the opening of another medical clinic for uninsured and underinsured residents.
The medical clinic for uninsured and underinsured residents in his home state of North Carolina was made possible by the $10 million donation from MJ.
Jordan added in his press statement,
“I am confident Novant Health’s new clinic will positively impact individuals and families throughout Wilmington, profoundly grateful to help make this day happen for my hometown.”
The other two Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics are placed in Charlotte, and the new Wilmington location, ensuring aid to even more patients in need across the state. The Wilmington clinic has 12 patient rooms and will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, per the press release.
Ernie Bovio, president of the Novant Health Coastal Region and Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, also said in his statement,
