The Broncos bid a cheerry welcome to their rookie quarterback, Bo Nix, selected as the sixth quarterback in the draft.

In a highly commendable move, Nix became the first newbie quarterback to sign his rookie contract, a solid, four-year deal worth an uncompromising $18.61 million.

Shelving an impressive $10.36 million signing bonus, Friday saw Bo Nix take a leap into the elite realms of the Broncos.

Ready to shoulder the responsibility of the collective expectation and remain unfazed amidst the forces that come with the laurels of veterans – Peyton Manning or John Elway.

Relishing the iconic privilege of donning a Broncos jersey, Nix said, “Can’t believe I get to wear a Broncos jersey and go out there and do what so many greats have done before me. I don’t take that lightly and I’m not gonna take it for granted.”

Staying focused on the sport, Bo Nix has no hefty purchases planned, post-signing his first contract. His repertoire boasts a transparent priority – learning the offense.

He says, “No, not so far. I’m just trying to learn this offense right now.”

Coach Payton, who is familiar with Nix’s game, endorsed the newbie quarterback, describing his game like watching a skilled golfer, adding:

“There’s a patience to how he plays. The ball comes out…and (he makes) pretty good decisions.”

Reportedly, Nix was the Broncos’ third quarterback after Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels on their board.

It appears the Broncos may have found their answer in the post-Peyton Manning era with Nix, arguably the best quarterback in college football over the past two seasons.

Besides being the top signal-caller over two seasons, Nix’s stats exceed among those drafted in 2024.

His 86.2 pressured passing grade led the pack, and his 55.4% completion rate, which was the highest, announces his exceptional play.

The Oregon offense generated a positive play on 47.8% of Nix’s pressured drop backs, with his impressive expected points added per pressured dropback, operating under pressure with ease.

These performances point towards his potential success in the NFL.
