One of the newest faces on the Washington Commanders, Jayden Daniels, is quickly catching the eyes of his teammates and earning high praise for his performance at the rookie minicamp.

The young quarterback’s impressive debut has been emblematic of his ‘it’ factor, turning heads everywhere. Daniels, at just 23, seamlessly blended into the training of the Commanders during his first practice.

Which was held under the newly installed offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury.

Luke McCaffrey, the agile receiver known for his crisp routes, did not hold back in his praise for the rookie. “He’s a stud,” McCaffrey admitted candidly.

Daniels’ charm was also not lost on seasoned tight end Ben Sinnott, who lauded his unique presence on the field. “He’s kind of got that ‘it’ factor that you want in a quarterback.” Sinnott exclaimed.

His entry into professional football – the NFL – was a surreal realization of a childhood dream. The rookie QB stated that he was “trying to be a sponge and learn as much as possible,” striving to not let the moment slip away.

“It was a blessing. Trying to soak it all in,” Daniels said. “This was my first NFL practice — I was focusing on practice — but just that nine-year-old kid in me realizing that his dreams came true. Now I’m here, but I still have a long way to go.”

During the 7-on-7 drills, Daniels showcased his considerable arm strength completing all 12 of his pass attempts successfully.

Being chosen as a potential franchise quarterback for Washington has come with its own set of expectations, all of which Daniels hopes to meet with his consistent improvement.

“It’s a franchise that’s eager,” Daniels said. “… The DMV, this fanbase, everybody — they want to see wins, they want to see excitement, they want to see joy. Hopefully we can go out there and we can do it as a Commanders franchise, as a team. But that’s way down the road. We’re worried about rookie minicamp practice tomorrow.”
