Almost a year after a cardiac arrest and corrective surgery for a congenital heart condition, Bronny James has been medically cleared by the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel to participate in the NBA draft.

This clearance comes directly from credible ESPN sources mentioned by @Draftexpress. The clearance is not only for the NBA Draft but additionally allows Bronny James to take part in this week’s NBA Draft Combine.

The 5-on-5 scrimmages, beginning Tuesday, are particularly significant because they will allow NBA executives to get a better look at James’ performance post his medical recovery.

In a strategic attempt to retain LeBron James, the Lakers have guaranteed to draft Bronny James, opening a unique possibility of having a father-son duo in the NBA.

The idea has the sports world buzzing in anticipation. Bronny, initially scheduled to attend Duquense, has shifted gears towards being a Laker, setting a monumental father-son precedent in the NBA.

James’ performance as a Trojans freshman was overshadowed by his health adversity, keeping him off the court, which reflected on his seasonal averages of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19.4 minutes per game.

Despite the unfavorable circumstances, he did enough to keep his hopes high and declare for the June NBA draft. James has until May 29th to decide on either staying in the draft or going back to college.

If the latter is chosen, James is reportedly considering the transfer portal for his potential secondary year of college basketball.
