“If my mom was a receiver, I’d jam her in the dirt.…. And she knows that.” Detroit Lions rookie CB Derrion Arnold is a character and the NFL better watch out

The Detroit Lions have unearthed a gem in rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold with the first-round pick proving he is at the very least a character.

Arnold claimed last week the Raiders lost him on a coin toss, with the Las Vegas team picking up Brock Bowers ahead of him 13th overall after Antonio Pierce literally flipped a coin, a story the Raiders have denied.

And now with Mother’s Day just passed he has once again passed another pearl of a quote.

“When I was a kid, when I used to beat my mom at racing, I had to continually beat her,” said Arnold, via Pride of Detroit. “We used to fight when I was younger, just wrestling and playing around. Like, man, I’ll never forget one time my mom kicked my tooth out because we were going at it so hard.”

Arnold’s mom would not even get in his way, and he hilariously said, “If my mom was a receiver, I’d jam her in the dirt.…. And she knows that.

“I just want to say, Tamala Arnold, I love you,” Arnold said on NFL Network. “I’m blessed to have you as a mom. You overcame a lot and with that being said, I’m gonna continue to keep shining. Just how you raised me to be. I’ll never forget where I came from.”

Arnold knows his roots, and if his interception ratio is anything like his talk, he should be a shoo in for defensive rookie of the year.
