“No Hookah for a minute” Clippers Paul George Jokes With Luka Doncic To Stay Healthy After First Round Progression

Luka Doncic has been known to enjoy a good time from time to time. On the court, no one can doubt the Slovenian superstars talent but there have been questions about his fitness over the years.

Doncic has been criticised in the past for his off-court routine with many questioning his weight gain and loss over the last few seasons. He has also been spotted by the media on numerous occasions enjoying a beer and a smoke. He was comically called “Hookah Doncic” by Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James during the 2023 NBA All-Star draft and that reputation seems to have stuck with him.

In a video that is now going viral online, nine-time All-Star Paul George was seen hugging Doncic after the six game series between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers. After the Mavs emerged victorious at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, George had some friendly advice for his counterpart.

“No Hookah for a minute,” says George as he bids farewell to Doncic for the season.

Doncic is considered one of the game’s elite scorers but has struggled to get Dallas to an championship over his six seasons in the NBA. The Mavericks currently lead the Oklahoma City Thunder 2-1 in a tightly-contested series and this could be the year Dallas breaks their 13 years championship drought.

This season, Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.8 assists and 9.2 rebounds over the regular season and was a contender for the league MVP award.

Paul George has been in the league a long time and Doncic may be wise to listen to him when it comes to health and fitness. If Doncic hopes to make the next step in his career, taking care of his body will be vital.
