Vikings Sign TE Sammis Reyes Through NFL’s International Player Pathway Program

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly signed tight end Sammis Reyes after his participation in rookie minicamp.

He joins the squad after coming from the league’s International Player Pathway Program. He will become part of the lineup of tight ends, which includes T.J. Hockenson, Nick Muse, Josh Oliver, Johnny Mundt, and Trey Knox.

He has participated in eleven games throughout his career and was undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he was drafted in the CFL Draft in the fourth round as the 34th pick. He played with teams including the Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Before pursuing his career in football, Reyes started as a basketball prospect and attended Tulane University. He went to Palm Beach State College before moving to Tulane and he also went to Loyola University in Louisiana.

Reyes announced his retirement from professional football in May 2023 after suffering a concussion. He was later released and cleared by the Jacksonville Jaguars in February 2024 and has decided to play again.
