The New York Jets will travel to the Bay Area to face the San Francisco 49ers for their NFL season opener on September 9.
After a devastating achilles injury during last season’s opener caused him miss effectively the entire 2023 season, Aaron Rodgers will be looking to prove his worth in 2024. The four-time league MVP returns to familiar territory to start the season. Rodgers was born in Northern California and attended the University of California, Berkeley which is located less than 50 miles from the 49ers stadium.
Rodgers return is set for MNF in San Francisco. 👀

Jets fans will be excited to see Rodgers healthy and fit but this is a challenging matchup and he will be a tested early on.
The 49ers are coming off a tremendous season where they finished 12-5 to win the NFC West for the second-consecutive season. Kyle Shanahan’s team has reached the NFC championship over four consecutive seasons and reached the Super Bowl on two of those occasions. With a star-studded roster consisting of Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa, Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams, they are one of the early favorites for the championship.
The Jets will be looking to bounce back from an underwhelming 7-10 season and will hope that a healthy Rodgers can lead them to the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
The NFL is yet to release the complete schedule for the 2024 season but we do already know that the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Baltimore Ravens in the Thursday night matchup on September 5.
