When he was asked about Stroud and the breakout season he had with the Houston Texans, Daniels mentioned, "That’s my boy. I’d be lying if I say I want to do better than him his rookie year. But what he did, as you [Keyshawn Johnson] said, is unheard of, so it’s like I’m not comparing myself to him. It’s just me being a competitor, us being from the same area. I want to outdo him."
He further continued, "He is a two-time Heisman finalist but he ain’t win one so I won one. That’s my brother, that’s my dog, what he did is unheard of, man but that’s just who he is like he is a confident human being. They put some pieces around him, so, I’am excited to see him now going to year two."
During his rookie year, Stroud was able to set multiple league rookie records and also set various records in the franchise history of the Houston Texans. Stroud was selected by the Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft in the first round as the second pick.
