The Nuggets had NBA MVP Nikola Jokic to thank as they overcame the Timberwolves 112-97 to take a 3-2 series lead in their conference semifinal.
The first person to lead the praises was opposition superstar Anthony Edwards, who said, “He’s (Jokic) the best player in the NBA … he was that guy tonight”.
The Joker was almost unplayable scoring 40 points, with 13 assists and seven rebounds.
Edwards, the de facto leader of the Timberwolves was quiet scoring a measure 18 points, with 9 assists and 4 rebounds.
T-Wolves power forward Karl-Anthony Towns was the team’s highest scorer with 23 points as they were blown away by Jokic.
Apart from the MVP, not one Nuggets player scored more than 18 points nor had more than 5 assists.
If Minnesota wants to level the series, they will have to double and even triple team Jokic and hope Ant catches fire.
