“I don"t like Jokic. I don"t like his game. He look like the dad of [a YMCA] player" Lil Wayne Not Impressed With Nikola Jokic"s “Older School" Style Of Play

Nikola Jokic was recently named the NBA"s MVP for the third time in four years. The Serbian superstar really can do it all. He can shoot, dribble, pass, post up, defend and knows how to get his teammates involved. While most NBA aficionados are in awe of his unique skillset and high basketball IQ, not everyone is a fan.

During a recent video on social media, popular rapper Lil Wayne made his feeling clear on the Denver Nuggets center.

“I don"t like Jokic. I don"t like his game. He look like the dad of [a YMCA] player," said Lil Wayne.

Wayne was speaking after the Nuggets recent 112-97 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“I"m from the old school and some people say he got a old school game I guess, but that"s a older school than I"m from," added Lil Wayne.

Jokic has dominated throughout the year and was deservingly rewarded for his hard work with the MVP crown. He finished the year averaging 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 9 assists and 1.4 steals per game over 79 games.

Lil Wayne also gave a shout out Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert who has been tasked with guarding Jokic during the series. The French center didn"t have much luck on Tuesday with Jokic finishing with 40 points, 13 assists and 7 rebounds to give his team a 3-2 lead in the series.

NBA teams have used a range of strategies to contain Jokic but can"t seem to find a formula that works. Lil Wayne may not be a fan of his style of play, but coaches around the league would love to have a player like Jokic on the roster.
