“[Jayden Daniels] he has big things coming for him," – Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson is excited for rookie QB Jayden Daniels after Washington go through five QB"s in three year

The Washington Commanders have gone through quarterbacks at a frightening speed in the past two seasons.

Wide receiver Jahan Dotson has only been in the capital for two years but has caught for four QB’s and will catch for his fifth one, in the 2024 season, with rookie Jayden Daniels set to start.

“He’s great,” Dotson told reporters Tuesday. “I don’t know if I can say this, but that’s the quarterback that I wanted.

“But yeah, I was happy when we drafted him, I’m really looking forward to building a relationship with him, furthering our relationship, as I’ve known him in the past, but he’s been good so far. He’s only been here a couple days now, but he has big things coming for him.”

Dotson, signed as the 16th overall pick in 2022 has played with Carson Wentz, Taylor Heinicke, Sam Howell and Jacoby Brissett.

The second overall pick in this year’s draft will look to start building a winning team, and the former LSU and Arizona State player is tipped to become a regular starter this campaign.

Dotson is excited to work with the Heisman Trophy winner.

“I’ve known him since I was coming out in the draft,” Dotson said. “We were training together before he transferred to LSU, when we were down in Arizona. So, we built a little relationship there, and then I kept up with him while he was at LSU. Obviously, he was the best player in college football last year, so yeah, it was really cool that we got to team up and go at it this year.”

The Commanders will be hoping Daniels can stick around in the starting line-up and build consistency over a period of three to four years.

The problem is Washington need him to fire from this season, but he has the support of his teammates and coaching staff and the Commanders fans will breathe a sigh of relief – for the time being.
