The Nets have confirmed that franchise legend Vince Carter’s number 15 jersey will be retired.
Carter played six seasons for the Brooklyn team helping them to three playoff appearances.
The three time All-Star is now the eighth Nets player to habe their jersey retired.
He follows in the footsteps of Bill Russell, Jason Kidd, Drazen Petrovic, John Williamson, Bill Melchionni and Buck Williams.
Carter spent a 22 seasons in the NBA playing for the Toronto Raptors, Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks.
Carter will also be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall fo Fame later this year.
Carter finished his career with 25,728 points at an average of 16.7 and will go down as one of the greats of the modern game.
He may not have won the NBA championship title, but he has an Olympic gold medal, a jersey retirement and a Hall of Fame induction. Not bad work Mr. Carter.
