Jason Kelce Joins ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ in Multi-Year Deal

The giant network, ESPN recently unveiled the role of former Super Bowl champion and seven-time Pro Bowl guard of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jason Kelce, who has signed a multi-year contract with the network.

Kelce will appear on Monday Night Football’s pregame show, “Monday Night Countdown” and will also be on ESPN’s pregame show for wild card games and divisional playoff games. During halftime of each broadcast, he will join Ryan Clark and Scott Van Pelt.

On “Monday Night Countdown”, the former guard will join Marcus Spears, Adam Schefter, Michelle Beisner-Buck including Clark, and Van Pelt. According to CBS News, he will also make an appearance on the Super Bowl studio coverage of the network for 2027 Super Bowl LXI during its broadcast on ABC and ESPN.

Regarding the new role, Kelce expressed, “Turns out, it was a short retirement! I’m excited to join ESPN, and particularly the ‘Monday Night Countdown team,’. ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports. To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”

With Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl by defeating the New England Patriots, which was the first for the franchise. During his successful career, he was named first-team All-Pro six times.

ESPN’s President of Content, Burke Magnus, shared, “Jason is a highly respected, Super Bowl Champion with a strong connection to fans. Walking off the field and immediately to ESPN, viewers will benefit from his perspective which has been shaped through his years as an established locker room leader and a future Hall of Fame center. Jason’s addition to ‘Monday Night Countdown’ will greatly strengthen our NFL coverage.”

However, despite the acquisition of his new role with ESPN, Kelce will continue to host “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, three-time Super Bowl champion tight end of the Chiefs.
