Ahead of the 2024 NFL season, the New England Patriots dropped an impressive and entertaining 3-minute, 46-second video, a parody of the “Good Will Hunting” movie.

The video released was titled “Good Jules Hunting” in which Julian Edelman starred alongside former director of football research Ernie Adams.

Rob Gronkowski, played the role of Chuckie Sullivan, Adams played the equivalent of Dr. Sean Maguire, Robin Williams’ role in the movie, and Edelman played the classic role of Matt Damon.

Robert Kraft and new head coach Jerod Mayo were also featured in the tribute to the actual 1997 film, with the team’s entire schedule teased throughout the parody.

Head coach Mayo curtailed the video by writing a formula on a whiteboard and told those in the room that it would help them predict the schedule, just as in the opening scene of “Good Will Hunting.”

Mayo later approaches Adams, telling him that they need Edelman so they can find out the rest of the schedule.

Adams and Edelman also recreated the “It’s not your fault” scene. Edelman departs, as Damon did at the end of the actual film. Instead of leaving a note, the former Patriots wide receiver leaves the 2024 schedule (in a folder titled “Pink Stripes”)

Adams says, an (almost) direct quote of Williams’s own line from the movie,

“Son of a b****, the kid stole my line.”

At the end, Patriots players David Andrews, Kendrick Bourne, Demario Douglas, and Marcus Jones appeared in a reference to another local classic, “The Town.”

The Patriots under the new head coach Mayo take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. They come home a week later though, hosting the Seattle Seahawks in their home opener.
