A tumultuous week for the Kansas City Chiefs took an unexpected turn as rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy reported the theft of his car from his Kansas City apartment complex.
Worthy, who recently made headlines for breaking the record for the fastest 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, contacted Kansas City police late on May 13, stating that his vehicle had been stolen from the garage of his apartment complex.

According to police reports, Worthy’s vehicle was parked securely in the garage before it was taken. The theft was discovered by Worthy early the next morning.
Details surrounding the theft suggest that the criminals involved were well-prepared, with Pro Football Talk describing them as individuals who “knew exactly what they were doing.”
The Kansas City Chiefs have yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
This incident comes on the heels of kicker Harrison Butker’s commencement speech at Benedictine University, where he faced criticism for remarks related to his faith.
The Chiefs selected Worthy with the 28th overall pick in the NFL Draft, trading up from the 32nd spot to secure him.
Despite the Chiefs’ recent success, including winning the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year, the team faced challenges in the passing game, with no player surpassing 1,000 receiving yards during the season.
