The Shohei Ohtani bobblehead giveaway happened on Thursday during a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds. It was a huge event that attracted a sell-out crowd of over 53,000 – the largest for Major League Baseball that season and the most at Dodger Stadium in several years.
The first 40,000 fans received the bobblehead, making it a coveted collector’s item. There were also 1,700 special edition bobbleheads featuring Ohtani in a road gray jersey randomly mixed in with the giveaway. These were much rarer and even more sought after.
As reported by TMZ Sports, this limited-edition bobblehead is causing a stir! On sites like eBay, some fans are selling these for as high as $1,500! Even the regular bobbleheads are fetching hundreds of dollars.
On the game front, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the game against the Cincinnati Reds with a final score of 5-2. This win puts the Dodgers’ record at 29-16, while the Reds fall to 18-25. Will Benson hit a home run for the Dodgers, the longest of his career at a projected 439 feet.
