During the PGA Championship, one brave individual took a plunge where neither golfer Adam Hadwin nor his caddie Joe Cruz were willing to go—into a pond to retrieve Hadwin’s lost golf club. Following Hadwin’s second round of 72, a video emerged showing a man stripping down to his underwear before diving into a pond at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

In the video, Hadwin can be seen standing by with a towel, ready to receive his rescued golf club, as the ‘Good Scubamaritan’ wades and then dives into the water. Despite the potential presence of snakes and other water creatures in the ponds around the course, the unnamed hero fearlessly took on the task of retrieving Hadwin’s club, ultimately saving the day for the Canadian golfer.

Adam Hadwin Secure Weekend Play at PGA Championship

Adam Hadwin, along with fellow Canadians, will continue their quest at the 106th PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, having finished at or below the projected cut line of 1-under on Friday. While the final cutline will be determined on Saturday morning, Hadwin and his compatriots have already secured their spots for the weekend rounds.

Leading the Canadian contingent is Adam Svensson, who sits at -3 after a solid second round where he carded a 2-under 69. Svensson’s day started with 12 consecutive pars, but he kicked into gear on the back nine, recording three birdies to bolster his position on the leaderboard. Notably, Svensson’s standout moment came on the par-5 seventh hole, where he expertly navigated over the water to set up a promising eagle opportunity.

Despite a tougher outing on Friday, Adam Hadwin remains in contention after shooting a 1-over 72. The University of Louisville product initially showed promise with back-to-back birdies but faced challenges on the back nine, finishing with three bogeys. Currently tied for 51st, Hadwin aims to rebound over the weekend and improve on his performance from last year’s PGA Championship.
