Analyst and former basketball legend Charles Barkley has a way with words, and joked that if Inside the NBA was cancelled, he would be hitting LinkedIn pretty hard.
Amid internet talks that TNT will lose the broadcast rights of the NBA for the near future the star cast of the most popular show in the network is starting to cast eyes from the unemployment line.
Barkley and Shaq are hardly going to break a sweat finding new gigs.
He may have joked about his personal situation but did admit the staff was “scared to death” about the impending doom.
“Wait, 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon,” said Barkley regarding Ernie Johnson’s announcement of the All-Rookie and All-Defensive Teams being announced on Monday afternoon. “We’re not doing that are we? Because I’m gonna be on LinkedIn tomorrow afternoon.”
Between moroseness and sadness comes jocularity and Barkley is showing that a brave face is probably all he can do now as the league and the networks wage war.
This could be the end of one of the best sports shows ever assembled but the show must go on, just not at TNT it seems.
