The Suns have been the bottom feeders of the Western Conference for a couple of years now. Can Phoenix make the playoffs this year?
2018 Suns Season
Last season the Suns drafted DeAndre Ayton with the first overall pick in the draft. He came in as the starting center and had a good rookie season finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting. Ayton had a solid stats as well averaging 16.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game last season. The team also has a good scorer in Devin Booker and he averages 26.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. Kelly Oubre Jr. is the third part of the Sun’s trio last season. Oubre Jr. averaged 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game last season. All three of these players will be on the team and the Suns added a few more weapons to this Phoenix roster.

2019 Suns Off-season
Last season Ricky Rubio played for the Jazz, and was not resigned. He signed a three year $58 million dollar contract with the Suns. Rubio last year averaged 12.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. He will be the starting point guard for Phoenix this year. Aron Baynes was traded to the Suns for a 2020 1st round pick. He is a suitable backup center in the NBA and has always been good. Last season Baynes averaged 5.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Dario Saric was also traded to the Suns for the number 6 overall pick. Last season Saric averaged 10.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Saric is a well-rounded power forward who will play well this season.
Suns Conclusion
The Suns have the talent to contend for the playoffs this season. They can contend for the 8th seed in the Western Conference at best. The worst they could do is get another top-five pick and hope the rebuild works soon.
