Patriots Release Troubled Wideout Antonio Brown

After just one game with the team, the Patriots have released troubled wideout, Antonio Brown. Brown is currently in the midst of a civil lawsuit with his former trainer for alleged sexual assault. The lawsuit states that Brown forcibly kissed her and sexually assaulted her.

This is one of the many accusations that Brown has come under fire for lately. This is the second team in a month that has let the receiver go. He was also cut by the Oakland Raiders right before the season started. When he was a Raider, he suffered frostbite on his feet while entering a cryogenic chamber. He rarely showed up to training camp because he was filing a grievance due to his helmet. Finally, he had a complete meltdown with the general manager for fining him.

After being cut, the Patriots took a shot and signed him to the team. They released this statement when he joined them.

“We are aware of the civil lawsuit that was filed earlier today against Antonio Brown, as well as the response by Antonio’s representatives. We take these allegations very seriously. Under no circumstance does this organization condone sexual violence or assault. The league has informed us that they will be investigating. We will have no further comment while that investigation takes place.”

The NFL did not suspend Antonio Brown and allowed him to play during Week 2 with the Patriots. Since then, a second accuser has stepped forward. This accuser claimed that Brown fired her from her job because she rejected his advances. Yesterday, we learnt that evidence had been provided to the NFL that showed Brown had sent threatening messages to the second accuser.

“Within the text string is a reference to the artist as a “super broke girl” and a request for someone called “Eric B” to “look up her background history. Then there is an Instagram photo of the woman with her children, accompanied by the message, “those her kids … she’s awful broke clearly.”

The Patriots released another short statement once they released Brown.
