So far, AEW Dynamite has been full of some amazing wrestling moments. From “this is awesome” chants and marvelous matches to the crowd popping returns and entertaining promos. AEW has taken the wrestling world by storm. On the Nov. 20 show in Indianapolis AEW continued their trend of shocking the crowd when a familiar face made his television debut.
AEW Dynamite Debut
Jim Ross announced that up next was the as-advertised Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal, but what he didn’t tell us is who would wrestle. After the rest of the competitors were already in the ring after the commercial ended some interesting music hit. Soon thereafter, it was revealed who was entering the Battle Royal. It was the ‘Badass’ Billy Gunn.

This was Gunn’s first appearance on ‘AEW Dynamite’ since signing with the promotion in January. It should be noted that Gunn had been a part of the Casino Battle Royal at the ‘Double or Nothing’ PPV before to this television debut. Gunn would eliminate both Marko Stunt and Jimmy Havoc and received a lot of positive reactions from the fans. Soon thereafter, Gunn had nearly eliminated the cocky MJF, but he was distracted by the intimidating and huge Wardlow at ringside. The distraction gave ‘Hangman’ Page the opening he needed to hit the Buckshot Lariat and eliminate Gunn.
WWE Legacy
Billy Gunn has had a very impressive career in the pro wrestling world up till now. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019 along with other members of the D-Generation X faction. Billy has had his fair share of accolades in the wrestling world, highlighted by his 10 WWE/F Tag Team Championship reigns. He has also held the WWF Hardcore Championship twice, the WWF Intercontinental Championship once and is the 1999 ‘King of the Ring.’

At age 56, it is most likely that Gunn will mainly be producing content at AEW. This may be one of the last times that we are able to see the ‘Badass’ in actions so it’s best to appreciate it while we can.
