Sunday Streamer Series: Fantasy Hockey Week 7

Good day to you all, welcome back to the OTH Sunday Streamer Series! Last week, there was only two games. Not a lot of options to put out for you wonderful people, so writing up a full article wasn’t necessary. Instead, however, there were a few streaming options put up via Twitter. Lets see how those picks worked out:

So, those Sunday Streamer choices did not do so well. At least Ryan Reaves continued his love of hits!

This week we have three games to look at. Looking at the teams playing this week, there might be a few familiar names on the list. Sunday Streamers are just that, streaming options. Pick them up for Sunday and make the decision on whether, or not, to keep them rostered on your squad going forward.

Lets jump right in to the Sunday Streamer choices!

Just because I got this song stuck in my head after writing that line..Enjoy

Buffalo Sabres vs Florida Panthers, 5pm EST

Let’s double down, shall we.

Points

  • Sam Reinhart, BUF 63% – 3G, 3A, 14 PIMs, 16 SOG, 9 Hits one the last 7 games played
  • Victor Olofsson, BUF 51% – 1G, 5A, +3,1 PPP, 25 SOG, 1 Hits, 3 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Frank Vatrano, FLA 19% – 2G, 1A, -3, 1 PPP, 15 SOG, 7 Hits, 6 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Brett Connolly, FLA 6% – 4G, 2A, +2, 2 PIMs, 8 SOG, 9 Hits, 2 Blocks in his last 7 games

Its tough to look passed the only consistent player alongside Jack Eichel on the top line in Buffalo. Any exposure to Eichel puts you in a good spot to produce. Olofsson might not be on the top line anymore, but he still has the top PP spot with Eichel and Reinhart. Same goes for Florida. Whoever his playing on that second line with Trocheck/Connolly shouldn’t be overlooked. Recently its been a mix of Vatrano, Mike Hoffman and Brain Boyle.

Hits/Blocks/PIMs

  • Zemgus Girgensons, BUF 0% – 0G, 0A, +2, 2 PIMs, 2 SOG, 12 Hits, 2 Blocks in his last 6 games
  • Curtis Lazar, BUF 0% – 1G, 0A, -2, 7 PIMs, 2 SOG, 10 Hits, 4 Blocks in his last 5 games
  • Dominic Toninato, FLA 0% – 2G, +2, 2 PIMs, 2 SOG, 10 Hits, 1 Block in his last 4 games
  • Anton Stralman, FLA 0% – 0G, 1A, -6, 7 SOG, 5 Hits, 10 Blocks in his last 7 games

Girgensons and Lazar are averaging close to 2 hits per game and they’ll throw in a block here and there. Florida isn’t an overly physical team, but Tononato has been trying to change that. Stralman has been a stout defenseman his entire career, and blocks usually come with that style of play.

Carolina Hurricanes vs Detroit Red Wings, 7pm EST

Points

  • Martin Necas, CAR 8% – 2G, 3A, -2, 1 PPP, 9 SOG, 5 Hits, 3 Blocks in his last 6 games
  • Nino Niederreiter, CAR 25% – 1G, 3A, -4, 2 PIMs, 6 SOG, 3 Hits, 5 Blocks in his last 6 games
  • Robby Fabbri, DET 17% – 3G, 5A, -1, 6 PIMs, 2 PPP, 13 SOG, 7 Hits, 1 Block in his last 7 games
  • Andreas Athanasiou, DET 17% – 4G, 3A, -2, 1 PPP, 20 SOG, 6 Hits, 3 Blocks in his last 7 games

You might notice a bit of a pattern here. Stacking linemates playing well is a good idea. Thats why I’m looking at the third line of Carolina and the second line of Detroit. Necas and Niederreiter have had a good amount of success playing together. Since Fabbri was traded to Detroit, he has been on fire. Playing alongside Athansiou seems to have cemented him in the top six, and its paying off. I also add that if Tyler Bertuzzi (59%) is still available, I’d make him a full time add. Not just a streaming option.

Hits/Blocks/PIMs

  • Jordan Staal, CAR 12% – 1G, 1A, -2, 2 PIMs, 16 SOG, 9 Hits, 4 Blocks in his last 6 games
  • Brett Pesce, CAR 5% – 0G, 4A, +2, 2 PIMs, 9 SOG, 4 Hits, 12 Blocks in his last 6 games
  • Adam Erne, DET 0% – 0G, 0A, -2, 2 PIMs, 6 SOG, 20 Hits, 7 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Dylan McIlrath, DET 0% – 0G, 0A, +1, 10 PIMs, 9 SOG, 21 Hits, 6 Blocks in his last 7 games

A little offensive upside with the physical play from Staal and Pesce from Carolina. The guys from Detroit, unfortunately, aren’t as offensively gifted. These guys like to hit, a lot.

Edmonton Oilers vs Arizona Coyotes 8pm EST

Points

  • Zack Kassian, EDM 51% – 4G, 2A, -2, 11 PIMs, 12 SOG, 15 Hits in his last 7 games
  • Jujhar Khaira, EDM 0% – 3G, 0A, +1, 2 PIMs, 11 SOG, 17 Hits, 4 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Connor Garland, ARI 25% – 3G, 1A, +1, 2 PPP, 15 SOG, 4 Hits, 3 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Nick Schmaltz, ARI 46% – 0G, 4A, -1, 2 PIMs, 1 PPP, 9 SOG, 3 Blocks i this last 7 games

When looking for an offensive Sunday Streamer from Edmonton, look no further then whoever is on line one with McDavid and Draisaitl. Lately that’s been Kassian, and he’s been producing very well. Khaira has a nice role on the second line with James Neal and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. He is more of a banger-type, but with the exposure to Neal and RNH, he has been showing signs of offensive upside. 2/3 of the top line, and second PP unit, in Arizona have been playing great together recently. Ride the hot streak while it continues and the deployment remains the same.

Hits/Blocks/PIMs

  • Josh Archibald, EDM 0% – 0G, 0A, 2 PIMs, 7 SOG, 21 Hits, 5 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Kris Russell, EDM 3% – 0G, 2A, +2, 8 SOG, 15 Hits, 14 Blocks in his last 7 games
  • Lawson Crouse, ARI 23% – 2G, 1A, 4 PIMs, 13 SOG, 16 Hits, 3 Blocks in his last 7 games.
  • Alex Goligoski, ARI 50% – 0G, 1A, 6 PIMs, 8 SOG, 14 Hits, 25 Blocks in his last 7 games

With Kassian now a top line scoring winger, Archibald has stepped in as the gritty third line winger that won’t shy away from a hit. I will forever hype Kris Russell as a Sunday Streamer when you count blocks. Crouse has a solid offensive upside, but will always bring the hits. Goligoski, a veteran defenseman, has no reluctance to get in front of a shot. He’ll add a few hits in the mix too.

There you have it, the latest Sunday Streamer post is here to help your fantasy hockey teams and guide them to victory!

Good Luck!
