Georgia Bulldogs: Kirby Smart Targeting Top Corner in 2021

Jordan Hancock, a huge target for the Georgia Bulldogs, is a 6-0 160 pound safety from Suwanee, Ga. He is the No. 5 cornerback and No. 6 prospect in Georgia for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

His small thin frame is perfect for playing inside and guarding the smaller quick slot receiver of the SEC.

The Bulldogs have a lot of competition for the highly ranked corner, mostly from Clemson, who 247 has predicted to sign him. Hancock recently returned from a visit to Death Valley, where it was believed that Clemson would do everything in their power to end his recruitment.

Predicting where a recruit will sign is never a science and teams flip commits all the time. So this battle to keep Hancock in the state will be one to keep an eye on. It’s not over until the ink dries.

It’s a very good sign for Georgia that Hancock came out of that visit still uncommitted. The Bulldogs are still long shots to end up signing Hancock, but this latest news has to make the coaching staff feel like they are still in the running.

Georgia Bulldogs Cornerback Situation

Georgia could be losing two of its best cornerbacks next year in Eric Stokes and Tyson Campbell. It is no secret that cornerback is a position of need in this cycle for the Dawgs. Picking up one as talented as Hancock would be huge.

Just imagine a defensive backfield of Kelee Ringo, Tyrique Stevenson, and Jordan Hancock. Talk about a no-fly zone. Only time will tell if this is the case. Stay tuned. This one is not over by a long shot.
