Byron Jones To Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have signed Byron Jones to a deal that will make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL. The contract totals $82.5 million over five years with $57 million guaranteed. Jones was named a second-team All-Pro in 2018 and made the Pro Bowl.

The former Dallas Cowboys star only has two interceptions throughout his young career but quarterbacks simply don’t throw his way. Jones is a shutdown corner that is capable of shutting down his opponent. Jones only allowed 34 completions for 395 yards and three touchdowns in 2019.

The Dolphins now have the two highest-paid cornerbacks in the league and are starting to develop an identity for their future. They have plenty of cap space to use so I don’t think they are done yet.

The Dolphins started their rebuild last season and clearly have a plan of what they want to be.
