Chargers Sign Tackle Bryan Bulaga

The Los Angeles Chargers and offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga have agreed to a three-year deal worth $30 million. The Chargers traded Russell Okung last month to Carolina for Pro-Bowl guard Trai Turner. This move helps solidify an offensive line that was among the worst in the league in 2019.

Bulaga was a first-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2010. He has battled several injuries, most notably two ACL tears (2013 and 2017). He will be 31 years old at the start of the 2020 season. If he can stay healthy, the Chargers just added a very solid offensive lineman to protect their quarterback, whomever that may end up being.

The Chargers will look different in 2020 and beyond. Philip Rivers was their longtime signal-caller who recently signed with the Colts after being allowed to test free agency.

Tyrod Taylor was his backup in 2019, but there are still some big names on the market, including Tom Brady and Jameis Winston. Andy Dalton and Cam Newton may also be on the move with their teams starting over at the position. more moves could be coming for Las Angeles.
