With the 70th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins selected safety, Brandon Jones. Jones will be a good safety for the Dolphins and he will be able to compete for the starting position.
Miami Dolphins’ Pick No. 70: Brandon Jones
The Miami Dolphins are in need of the safety position after they cut Reshad Jones after the 2019 season. Brandon Jones will compete with Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe for the starting safety position. The Dolphins might move either McCain or Rowe to cornerback and allow Jones to become the starting safety. Jones will join one of the most dominant young secondaries in the NFL, which consists of Byron Jones, Xavien Howard, Eric Rowe, and Bobby McCain.
In his senior season for Texas, Jones racked up 86 tackles, four passes defended, and two interceptions. He will be either a good rotation safety for the Dolphins or be able to have the chance to start. Overall the Dolphins finally addressed a major need on the roster, which allows either Rowe or McCain to move to cornerback.
