Jackson Anderson Commits to CU

The Colorado Buffaloes got a 6’4″, 290 lbs OG from Minola, TX. Jackson Anderson is a 3-star Junior that has had offers from Kansas, Nevada, UNLV, CSU, and others. The Buffs offered him on April 10th and he committed on June 15th.

Jackson joins ILB Zephaniah Maea, WR Chase Penry, and SDE Allan Baugh as the 2021 commits for the Buffs.

The OG is 53rd in his position and 175th in Texas. He was a 1st Team All-District as a junior. He also was a 3A regional qualifier in the discus as a sophomore.

In an interview with Buffnation when asked why he picked Colorado, Anderson said, “My dad really loved Coach Rodrigue and he knows he has really good experience. Ever since I got the offer from Colorado, that had been my No. 1 school.”

Future in Boulder

Looking at Anderson’s future in CU, it might have to be a while before he makes an impact on the field. When he shows up on campus of 2021, he will have 3 seniors and 4 juniors on the O-line. The one thing that is good for Buffs fans is that Jack Wiley, last year’s recruit, came into Boulder at 250lbs. He redshirted and put on 40lbs. Anderson is already 290 lbs, so if he can get to at least 320 and move how he can now, he will be a monster for that front 5. The Buffaloes need help on the O-line. In 2019, they gave up 24 sacks for a loss of 184 yards. Anderson being how big he is and the fact that he can move so well is a really good sign that the Buffs line is going in the right direction.
