The greatest trilogy has come to an end at UFC 252. Although to some the ending was bittersweet, the card was still exciting even though many fans thought it would be one of the most boring cards of the year. Let’s get into the fights.

Merab Dvalishvili smothers John Dodson to gain Unanimous Decision Win

Merab Dvalishvili once again showed us why his name is “The Machine”. Dvalishvili controlled the fight with his grappling and clinch work to suppress the explosiveness and movement of Dodson. However, Dodson was able to escape at times and land some strikes but the overbearing presence of Dvalishvili was always present. Dvalishvili won the bout with a Unanimous Decision with the judges scoring the bout 30-27 x 3. This win extends Dvalishvili’s win streak to 5. Who’s Next?
- Merab Dvalishvili

Daniel Pineda upsets Herbert Burns in his return to the UFC

Daniel Pineda was last seen in the organization 6 years ago and tonight it looked like he’s never left. Once the bout started Pineda looked to be on the attack against the dangerous Burns, Burns countered with a takedown but Pinada countered with his own. After scrambling on the ground Pineda found himself on top of Burns in the Crucifix position as he rained down elbows to secure the TKO finish. This win extends Pineda’s win streak to 5 and ends the 5 fight streak of Burns. What’s next for Pineda?
- Daniel Pineda
- Bryce Mitchell
Jairzinho Rozenstruik victorious in MMA Chess against Junior Dos Santos

Although Jairzinho Rozenstruik won in violent fashion the bout was anything but violent. Both Dos Santos and Rozenstruik respected each other’s power and opted to pick their opportunities of attack whenever they found an opening. After trading leg kicks and singular strikes and a few blitzing combos, Rozenstruik found his opening and dropped Dos Santos with strong left hand followed by a left which led to a flurry of punches and another knockdown which ended the bout and gave the TKO win to Rozenstruik. This loss extends the losing streak of Dos Santos to 3. What’s next for ‘Bigi Boy’?
- Jairzinho Rozenstruik
- Derrick Lewis
Marlon Vera capitalizes on injured Sean O’Malley

This fight was…strange. Yes, it had a slow start but the energy between Vera and O’Malley was there waiting to explode. That was until halfway to the round O’Malley injured his foot and Vera started to hunt down the injured O’Malley. As O’Malley was pushed back due to Vera’s pressure he fell back and landed on his back before Vera landed elbows to obtain the TKO win. This loss puts an end to O’Malley’s perfect record of 12. Due to the strange fashion of this fight I would like to see O’Malley hopefully healed quickly and have them run it back.

Stipe Miocic ends Trilogy and retires Daniel Cormier

The Greatest Trilogy in MMA has come to an end. Stipe Miocic is the winner of the third bout and of the trilogy with 2 wins over DC. Although DC started aggressively, after he was dropped late in the 2nd he never seemed to recover and it was worse when late in the 3rd DC was poked in the eye which seemed to close his eye shut. Although DC needed an urgent finish to make sure he retired on top Miocic used the smaller cage to his advantage by clinching and negating the offense of DC. Miocic won the bout with the judges scoring the bout 49-46 x 2, and 48-47. What’s next for the Heavyweights?
- Stipe Miocic
- Francis Ngannou
- Daniel Cormier
- Retirement
