Another Strong Move by Andrew Berry
Andrew Berry continues to prove that he was ready to be a GM of a franchise. After what most consider a steller offseason and navigating the training camp injuries by grabbing a veteran linebacker who knows the system in Malcolm Smith and then trading a fifth-round pick for a young safety in Ronnie Harrison after Grant Delpit went down. Now he has extended 25-year-old Kareem Hunt on a team-friendly deal while also creating leverage when it comes time to extend Nick Chubb.
Kareem Hunt in Cleveland
Hunt joined the Browns in 2019 and was suspended the first eight games of the year. In the eight games Hunt did play in, he ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns. He also would catch 37 passes out of the backfield for 285 yards and one more touchdown. Those 37 catches would end up third on the team. Hunt has proven to be one of the best two-way threats in the NFL in his short career.
This move guarantees one more year of the most explosive backfield with both Chubb and Hunt willing to work together.
