Taking to Twitch today to announce his latest matchup, Randy Brown has confirmed that he will be returning on October ninth to face a man coming off of a big KO/TKO win.
“Win, lose, or draw I’m coming to fight, you know that… and my opponent seems to be cut from that same kind of cloth… The fight is October ninth, and it’s me versus Jared Gooden…” Brown stated on his Twitch podcast The Pro & The Bro. Breaking the news on a thrilling fight announcement that has ‘Fight of the Night’ potential.
“Rudeboy” and “Nitetrain” Set to Collide in an Important Welterweight Matchup
Randy Brown (13-4, 7-4 UFC) was last seen in action at UFC 262, where an impressive one-arm rear-naked-choke would earn him the victory over Alex Oliveira. Displaying his deadly submission skills yet again for the world to see.
Ahead of this matchup against Gooden, Brown mentioned on Twitch how he’d “known the date,” of when he was going to fight next, although the exact opponent was unclear until recently. 3-2 in his last five fights, Brown has experienced his fair share of growing pains inside the UFC. He’s faced adversity and has been finished in both losses during his last five fights, to Niko Price, and Vicente Luque respectively.
Jared Gooden (18-6, 1-2 UFC) is also riding the wave of momentum that comes from a huge win. After going 0-2 in his first two UFC fights, “Nitetrain” turned the tide with a sinister right-cross that would lead to the KO/TKO victory over Niklas Stolze. Finally getting his first UFC win, surely Gooden will be even hungrier to garner his second.
An explosive finisher, Gooden holds eight finishes in eight different promotions, with 14 total finishes on his professional record. Both fighters are 3-2 in their last five and also share the similarity of being well-rounded and a threat anywhere the fight goes.
