Yankees Prospects Anthony Volpe and Oswald Peraza Heating Up
A June in Review
Entering June, Oswald Peraza was struggling to start the season. Through the first couple of months, the Yankee farmhand was slashing a dismal .208/.272/.349 with 5 home runs. Since the beginning of June, Peraza showed why he is one of the top Yankees prospects, slashing .308/.389/.551 with 5 more home runs.

Like Peraza, one of the other top Yankees prospects, Anthony Volpe, also struggled to start the season. In his first taste of Double-A, Volpe struggled out of the starting gates, slashing .203/.312/.373 also with 5 home runs on the season. Since the beginning of June, Volpe is slashing .299/.370/.561 while adding 6 more home runs.

Looking Forward
With these two top prospects performing at this level, fans are beginning to wonder how many more chances Kiner-Falefa will be given to lock down the starting shortstop position. If Peraza or Volpe can start challenging for that opportunity, IKF becomes a valuable utility infielder with plus speed off the bench. Alternatively, the Yankees could be willing to trade one of these players with the deadline approaching.
