Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly made a significant investment in the real estate realm, acquiring a luxurious mega-mansion on the opulent ‘Billionaires Island’ in Dubai. The Al-Nassr superstar, known for his global success and massive earnings, is set to be honored at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai for his outstanding performance as the top scorer in the world in 2023.

Ronaldo, who commands a staggering £175 million annual salary with the Saudi club, has diversified his already impressive property portfolio with this latest acquisition. The Portuguese superstar’s new residence is situated on Jumeirah Bay Island, colloquially known as ‘Billionaires Island,’ an exclusive enclave catering to the world’s wealthiest individuals.

While specific details about the mansion are not disclosed, reports suggest it could carry a price tag in the tens of millions of euros. To put this into perspective, a separate mansion for sale on ‘Billionaires Island’ spans 30,000 square meters, featuring opulent amenities such as six bedrooms, private beach access, a seven-car showroom, a spa, a pool with a panoramic view of downtown Dubai, and on-site accommodation for staff.

‘Billionaires Island’ has earned its moniker due to its high concentration of billionaires per square kilometer, attracting affluent residents from Saudi Arabia, Israel, India, and Russia. The island, developed during the early stages of the pandemic, comprises ten mega-mansions expected to fetch a total of $545 million (£430 million), averaging at £43 million per property.

Aside from the lavish residences, the island is part of a gated community with fine-dining establishments, a yacht club, a beach resort, and a prime waterfront location facing the open sea and the iconic Burj Khalifa building. The luxurious surroundings make it an ideal setting for Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, along with their five children.

Commute convenience adds to the appeal, with a flight from Riyadh, where Ronaldo is based in Saudi Arabia, taking just two hours. The move aligns with a trend observed among stars in the Saudi Pro League, who often reside in expansive villas or luxury hotels. Ronaldo and Rodriguez initially stayed in the five-star Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh, showcasing the lifestyle choices of elite football personalities.
