Start and Sit Week 12: Tight Ends

Fantasy players that are clear starters will not be included in this article, such as Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Michael Thomas. All the fantasy stats shown below will be based on a Point Per Reception (PPR) scoring format.

Teams on Bye: Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings.

Teams Coming Off Bye: Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans.

Start Of The Week: Vance McDonald vs Cincinnati Bengals

Vance McDonald is the tight end start of the week for week 12. Although he has not played up to the expectations we had entering the year, Vance is in line to have a great game against the Cincinnati Bengals. McDonald has seven targets in each of the last three games, and 11 receptions in that time. The Bengals are terrible everywhere on defense. In addition to this, Mason Rudolph loves to throw the ball short. Since Juju Smith-Schuster and James Conner are banged up, he could be the main target.

Other Good Starts:

  • Jason Witten vs New England Patriots
  • Noah Fant vs Buffalo Bills
  • Jared Cook vs Carolina Panthers

Sit Of The Week: Darren Waller vs New York Jets

Darren Waller has been awesome this season and the Jets have been awful, so why sit him? Most importantly, he only has 13 receptions over the last four games on 22 targets. Jets safety Jamal Adams has been the best safety in the NFL this year, not to mention he has shut down tight ends and slot receivers. In other words, the talent is there, but Derek Carr will not use him as a go-to receiver. Moreover, expect Adams to spend a lot of time covering Waller, and that will make Carr look elsewhere.

Other Good Sits:

  • Jack Doyle vs Houston Texans
  • O.J. Howard vs Atlanta Falcons
  • Gerald Everett vs Baltimore Ravens
