Kansas City Chiefs Place the Franchise Tag on Chris Jones

According to Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs have officially placed the franchise tag on Defensive Tackle Chris Jones. This move certainly was expected but takes another big name out of the free agency pool.

Chris Jones

Chris Jones had a very solid season in 2019 with 23 tackles, nine sacks, and one forced fumble along with winning a Super Bowl. His reward for that season is the franchise tag, which should be around 15 million dollars. Obviously, all NFL players should want a long term deal to sure up a long-lasting future for himself and his family. But that is not the case for the 2020 season. He is, however, only 25 years old and will have another opportunity in the upcoming season to get that long term deal he’s searching for.
