Jon ‘Bones’ Jones made his feelings known on the state of the potential challengers for his Heavyweight title via. Twitter before deciding to delete the tweets soon after.

Jon Jones Has Yet to See His Equal

Jones tweeted, "Sometimes I feel like I’ve been in a deja vu, everyone’s going to be the guy to kick my ass. Meanwhile, I’m over here undefeated with a face full of gray hairs." Jones followed that up with two more tweets, "Half the time the guys talking the most crap don’t even end up winning their next fight. I’ve been around this game for a long time. Over the years, I’ve learned not to get all [impressed] so quickly. Stick around, win consistently like I have. And then talk your s***." Jones’ last tweet read, "Everyone’s the next big thing until I beat them. And then it’s like well. Who was that guy anyway? Just a few months ago [Ciryl] Gane was the absolute future of MMA. Best foot work, fastest heavyweight we have ever seen. The most athletic. Now everyone’s like who the hell is that guy?" Tom Aspinall saw Jones" tweets and simply tweeted, “Jon, chill out mate."

Jones’ tweets come on the heels of Tom Aspinall’s impressive win this past weekend at UFC London, Aspinall (13-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) defeated Marcin Tybura (24-8 MMA, 11-7 UFC) via. TKO just over a minute into the first round. The fight for Aspinall was his first bout since losing to Curtis Blaydes (17-4-1 MMA, 12-4-1 UFC) via. TKO (Knee Injury) a year ago. Aspinall is now 9-1 in his last 10 MMA bouts, and fans are noticing the rise of a potential challenger to Jon Jones, perhaps Jones has taken notice of the media and fans" reactions as well. Sergei Pavlovich (18-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) is worth mentioning, as he is currently riding a six-fight win streak.

Jon Jones (27-1-1 MMA, 21-1-1 UFC) last competed at UFC 285, Jones had returned to MMA after three years away from the Octagon to compete against Ciryl Gane (11-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC)  for the vacant Heavyweight title. Jones defeated Gane via. first-round submission. Jones will now defend his Heavyweight title against former two-time Heavyweight champion- Stipe Miocic (20-4 MMA, 14-4 UFC) at UFC 295 at MSG in New York on November 11th later this year. The UFC 295 headliner will be Miocic’s first bout since losing the title to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 in March 2021.
