Important Note: This presentation of ONE Championship is exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers inside North America only. Outside of the continent, ONE on Prime Video 13 is accessible as a pay-per-view on ONE Championship’s Website under the alternate title ONE Fight Night 13.
All told, ONE on Prime Video 13 features 10 total bouts. Highlighting the night’s itinerary is the battle for the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing Championship in the main event.
Incumbent ONE Featherweight Kickboxing Champion Chingiz Allazov (60-5, 1 NC kickboxing, 5-1 ONE Championship) takes on challenger and No. 2 contender Marat Grigorian (66-12-1, 1 NC kickboxing, 3-1 ONE Championship.) This is a trilogy fight between the two of them.
So far, Grigorian holds the all-time advantage at 1-0 with one no-contest over Allazov. It’s been close to 10 years since they fought last. How will the third time play out?
Heading into the ONE on Prime Video 13 main event on Friday night, champion Chingiz Allazov stands as the taller man at 5-foot-11, compared to the 5-foot-9 frame of challenger Marat Grigorian. Both men are level in reach at 71.3 inches apiece.
As of Thursday afternoon, the oddsmakers have Chingiz Allazov installed as a -175 favorite on the money line, with Marat Grigorian countering as a +145 underdog. If you plan on betting on this or any other fight happening this weekend, please wager responsibly.
Chingiz Allazov has posted a record of 4-1 in his last five fights. At present, he’s on a four-fight winning streak.
Most recently, he scored a second-round knockout due to punches over Superbon Singha Mawynn (114-35 kickboxing, 4-1 ONE Championship) on Jan. 14 in ONE on Prime Video 6. As previously stated, Allazov and Grigorian are in a trilogy bout this Friday.
Recently, the champ was interviewed about Friday night’s ONE on Prime Video 13 main event. He’s out on a mission to get revenge.
“I like this fight,” Allazov began. “I’ve been waiting for this day. ONE offered me three opponents for my first defense, and I picked Grigorian. We fought 10 years ago. The first fight was a no-contest. The second fight, I lost.”
Will Allazov get what he’s been waiting 10 years for? Tune into the ONE on Prime Video 13 main event and find out.
In the other corner, Marat Grigorian has posted a mark of 4-1 himself in his last five contests. He most recently returned to the win column on Oct. 1, 2022 (unanimous decision) against Tayfun Ozcan (86-10-3 kickboxing, 2-2 ONE Championship.)
Originally, Allazov and Grigorian were to have battled one another on Jan. 28, 2022 in a featherweight tournament before the latter withdrew from the field amid COVID protocols. More than a year and a half later, the bout is back on, and he’s ready to roll.
“I was really disappointed when that didn’t happen,” Grigorian said of the canceled bout. “My world went down at that moment, but that’s life. It doesn’t always go how you want it. So, you must be ready to accept everything and make your opportunities count.”
Will he be able to make it two wins over the champion? Only time will tell.
This one is a toss-up. With both men subscribing to the same discipline, neither of them own an edge in the ONE on Prime Video 13 main event.
Don’t get into a fistfight with Chingiz Allazov. The champ can and will make you pay for your mistakes, like he did versus Superbon back in January.
Round two saw Allazov get warned for an illegal blow to Superbon’s leg, but he came back with crisp attacks, including a body shot to knock Superbon down, which was quickly followed by a second knockdown.
Immediately after the command to restart the fight, Allazov landed a barrage of punches, capped by a shot to the head, to put Superbon down and out. Look for Chingiz Allazov to land punches in bunches at the first opportunity in the ONE on Prime Video 13 main event.
In the other corner, Marat Grigorian’s kicking game is something to behold, as well. Back in 2017, in GLORY Kickboxing, he fought Djime and went up top for the win.
During the opening round of a contracted catchweight, Grigorian teed Djime up with a one-two combination. That combo spelled success for the former, who used it to set up a kick to the head.
Djime folded like a lawn chair in a tornado right away. The referee didn’t even bother with the 10-count after that.
All it takes is one head kick from Grigorian to win the belt.
This is the best main event of the three we’ve chronicled for Friday night. Don’t miss it.
Prediction: Marat Grigorian by Unanimous Decision.
